Full Time

We are looking for a Producer to join our tight-knit team of creatives.  As a Producer, you would help us define better production practices studio wide, run the production of a project, and help guide the production direction of our studio. An ideal candidate will have experience shipping games in either the indie or AAA space, strong production knowledge, and have a passion for building games.

About us:

We are unable to provide our company name at this time (sorry about that), but we are a medium sized indie studio, based out of Toronto, and have been making award winning console, PC and mobile games for over a decade.

We love working with great people and do everything we can to keep working with them.  As a result, most of our team members have been with us for a long time.  We also strongly believe that one of the key features to being part of a smaller studio like ours is having a voice and ownership over the projects you work on, and sharing in their success.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Own the timeline, deliverable schedule, and budget for an in-development project
  • Work with project leads to prioritise features and maintain project backlog
  • Work with external partners to relay the status of the game, prioritise project milestone goals and prepare/submit milestone deliverables.
  • Define and implement workflows for content and code production
  • Run key production meetings such as Sprint Planning, Weekly Reviews, and Stand-ups
  • Track & report on overall progress of project
  • Work with studio leadership on key staffing and project risk mitigation
  • Work with studio leadership on overall studio roadmap and planning

Relevant Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience of project planning and team management
  • Relevant experience on a game team
  • Shipped titles on more than one platform (e.g PC, Mobile, Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo, etc)

Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of production best practices and workflows
  • Knowledge of project management tools (JIRA, Microsoft Project, Notion)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experienced people manager

We have an office in Toronto, but are largely working remotely.  We expect to operate in a flexible hybrid capacity once remote work is no longer as much of a necessity.  Being in Ontario is preferred (Toronto is ideal), but candidates in other Canadian cities will be considered.  Some relocation assistance can be provided.

👋 Hi! Nate from Work With Indies here. While the name of the developer is confidential, please do not let that discourage you from applying. This is not only a legitimate listing, you would in fact be working with some of my favorite people in all of indie games.

This is a fantastic opportunity– one that comes with my highest recommendation.
