Our first live service is based on a well established fantasy IP and aims to connect camp-fire survival (co-op) with tactical dungeons (action) and an economy hub (trading).

THE ROLE

As an Unreal Gameplay Engineer, you will work on building the game features that are creating the fun playing the game. You will directly work with our producer and game designer, to create game features. Our game is a Social Survival Sandbox game. It’s using a lot of know game mechanics and combines them in a unique way to create long-lasting fun for players. You will help creating this game and fun.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate on the implementation of new gameplay features: player and characters’ behaviors, combat and power mechanics, user interface, etc.
  • Work closely with designers, artists, and producers to iterate on gameplay features and ensure a great player experience.
  • Develop and own the procedural world generation of our survival game
  • Create the foundation of the multiplayer backend (client/server architecture) with Unreal
  • Implement Epic Online Services
  • Collaborate with other members of the team to build sustainable and maintainable technologies and optimized code on all platforms.
  • Provides high-level estimation and task management for incoming project requirements
  • Inspires and motivates the team to generate new ideas and solutions that optimize our development workflow
  • Reviews and collaborates on technical design and code implementation
  • Provides knowledge sharing between other development teams and departments

YOUR PROFILE

  • 2+ years of experience in games development with a significant impact on a shipped game
  • 2+ years of experience as a Game Dev Engineer, UE4 Developer, or comparative role
  • Expert in UE4 with C++
  • Experience in UE4 with experience in Blueprints
  • Experience with Open World and/or Sandbox games
  • Experience with gameplay features like Inventory, Crafting, and Monster AI
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to collaborate and work well other disciplines
  • Comfortable wearing many hats and jumping into something new from time to time
  • Knowledgeable in refactoring and optimization when they are appropriate.
  • Excellent technical design and/or code review skills
  • Excellent English communication and collaboration skills
