As our in-house 3D Technical Artist, you will assist our art and programming teams in the creation and optimisation of high-quality art assets.  You will be responsible for maintaining an efficient art pipeline, creating tools where needed, ensuring cross platform optimisation, and contributing to the creation of 3D content.

This role is open to remote candidates as well as those than can join us in our Glasgow office set in a beautiful Edwardian school building.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Prototype, develop and improve art pipelines.
  • Optimise run-time performance of our games.
  • Create high quality 3D content.
  • Assist the programming team with implementing art-related tools and features.
  • Take part in implementing in-house and outsourced art assets.
  • Communicate with all disciplines to resolve issues and improve game quality.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable knowledge of modern game content creation workflows using Autodesk 3dsmax and/or Autodesk Maya.
  • Application scripting experience (e.g., Python, MAXScript, Javascript)
  • Understanding of real-time physically based materials & rendering (PBR)
  • Understanding of the Unity and Unreal game engines
  • Strong digital content creation skills (modelling, texturing, lighting)
  • Knowledge of performance profiling and optimisation (CPU and/or GPU)
  • Passion for games and game development

Advantageous experience:

  • Knowledge of programming languages such as C++ or C#
  • Some familiarity with rigging and animation
  • Traditional art skill

About Our Games

The Ship: Remastered is a remake of the 2006 classic, The Ship: Murder Party. Explore all of the original maps that have been recreated for The Ship: Remasted and then remember how The Ship caused you to lose all of your friends in the first place!

Welcome to Murderous Pursuits, a multiplayer stealth-em-up of aristocratic proportions. In this delightful game, your host, Mr X, cordially invites you and up to seven other players to stab the living daylights out of each other.

Set on board a Victorian-era ship, that can fly – it’s ‘the time travel’, don’t you know – you get to play in one of several ship-board locations and must identify and kill another player amongst the passengers, without drawing too much attention to yourself or having the guards witnessing the diabolical deed. What gratification! But if this seems too refined for your gentile tastes, you must do so while evading your own murderous hunters. The swines!
