We are looking for a new team member to split their time between administrative duties, quality assurance (QA), external partner management, and a variety of "general" tasks around the studio. Some examples of these tasks are given in the job description below, and while they touch many different fields of work, they do not require experience in each of these fields. If you're someone who is organized, thorough, passionate about the games industry and eager to learn about the business—from playtesting the latest build to processing payroll to managing merchandise—this job is for you. This can act as an entry-level position in the games industry where you'll have a lot of different things to learn and handle, but you'll "graduate" from this position with knowledge about games-related business as well as skills in a variety of different fields related to the industry.

🦠 COVID-19 info: The position will be full-time, and work will be from our office in downtown Montréal once the COVID pandemic calms down and we can return to work safely. Work will start remote, of course, and we are willing to be accommodating in terms of the start date in order to find the best candidate. A workstation will be provided, and can be used from home upon the candidate’s request until we move back to the office, at which point the workstation will be brought back.

About Clever Endeavour Games

Clever Endeavour Games is a small indie games studio based in Montréal. We released Ultimate Chicken Horse (UCH), a multiplayer party platformer, in 2016 on Steam. 5 years later, and after a slew of updates, the UCH community is still alive and we're working on our next game, which has led to an increase in work for the entire team. That's where you come in!


  • Business administration tasks such as paying bills, scheduling payroll, etc.
  • Communication with external partners, contractors, accountants, localization, QA, etc.
  • Quality assurance on updates to our released game (Ultimate Chicken Horse) and our upcoming (unannounced) game, and managing an external QA team when needed
  • A variety of general tasks related to the studio's day-to-day operations
  • Some examples include: updating the website when new content is available, managing merchandise through external partners, simple integration of game elements into Unity (the game engine we use), helping to run playtests, help in planning our attendance at events such as expos and conferences, research surrounding events and charities, compiling hours sheets, reading over job applications, and more
  • Communicating to the team about your work
  • Requesting help or assets from other members of the team when needed


  • Passion for the games industry as a possible direction for your career (and not only passion as a gamer)
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and thorough approach to work
  • An eye for improvement to process
  • Willingness to learn a wide variety of skills in several domains
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Legally able to work in Canada
  • If not currently in Montreal, able to relocate to Montreal post-COVID upon the team's return to the office

The following skills and experience would be beneficial, but are not required:

  • Previous QA experience in the games industry
  • Background in business administration
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Graphic design, digital art and/or photography experience
  • Familiarity with modern web CMS systems (e.g. Squarespace, WordPress)
  • Familiarity with the Unity game engine
  • Familiarity with the Montréal and Canadian games scene
  • Fluency in French, both written and verbal
  • Fluency in languages other than English and French

About Ultimate Chicken Horse

Ultimate Chicken Horse is a party platformer where you build the level as you play, taking turns placing traps and hazards and trying to screw your friends out of a win. Each turn, place more items in the level before running through, and try to create a level that's just barely too hard for your friends, but easy enough for you. If everyone reaches the end of the level, no one gets any points, so be dangerous!
