We are Fighting Chance, a group of five game developers, looking for a new 2D Character Animator!

Fighting Chance is looking for an experienced 2D character animator to help bring our prototype to life. Our game – Drag Her – is a 2D fighting game featuring mainstream drag queens duking it out in a highly camp universe, and we were recently awarded a grant from the IGDA for upcoming promising titles.

Your work will be taking storyboards and creating animated cutscenes 10-15 seconds in length. A creative director will help guide your day to day, and a producer will help support you and advocate for your needs.

To succeed in this role, you will need to:

  • Have proficiency in an animation program like Toon Boon Harmony, Photoshop, or After Effects
  • Draft and animate fully rendered, coloured, and in-betweened 2D sequences
  • Be practiced in terms of anatomy, perspective, colour, and cell shading
  • Use JIRA & equivalent tools to track work

It would benefit you if:

  • You understand queer culture, including the modern drag scene
  • Have additional FX or background skills to flesh out the cinematics you create
  • Can demonstrate your ability to collaborate

This role is a part-time contract position, fully remote, for an anticipated length of one month. There is a chance of the role extending and becoming full-time if the project is picked up. Pay is $20-30 USD/hr and is negotiable further depending on experience.
