Hello! We are Fireplace Games and we are looking for a Tool Programmer to join our team in Montpellier, France. As the main Tool Programmer on the production of a new IP, you will:

  • Design, create and improve existing tools during production.
  • Work closely with different teams to meet their needs.
  • Anticipate and solve technical challenges, give time-budget estimates accordingly, and help in establishing the full game scope.

Required skills

  • Demonstrable experience with tool programming, especially in C++.
  • Experience with creating editor interfaces.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine 4.
  • Knowledge in Python.
  • Working proficiency in English and French.

Would be appreciated

  • Knowledge in automation.
  • Interest in other programming fields.
  • Involvement in game industry events, associations or non-profit organizations.

Salary and bonuses

At Fireplace Games, we collectively decided to give everyone the same salary and bonuses, irrespective of one's experience or position:

  • CDI contract with 4 month probation
  • 31,000€ annual gross salary
  • Cadre status
  • 8€ meal-ticket/day
  • 70% covered health insurance
  • Part-time work-from-home options

Just like every other member of the team, you will have a right to submit and vote for common raises or new bonuses.

About Us

Fireplace Games is a young independent video game studio, founded in 2020. The 8 co-founders previously worked together on En Garde!, an award-winning student project released in 2018. We are now a team of 11, working on a 3rd person action-adventure game for PC and consoles.

En Garde! is a swashbuckling action-adventure game set in 17th century Spain. Play as Adalia de Volador, a noble & impetuous swordswoman! Your palace has been seized by a mysterious mastermind and his hoard of guards - you will have to defend your family's honor!
