You are an ambitious artist looking to make your mark on the entertainment industry by bringing game-engine technology to the forefront of content production using the techniques of gaming, cinematography and animation.  You are able to work quickly and flexibly to create virtually produced scenes and animation. Your work will help support effective creation, communication and realization of our interactive FMV games from development through to production and delivery.

You will join the team as we implement a realtime pre-vis workflow for our content production pipeline.  In your role, you will work to piece together ideas and set them in motion to create a dynamic, run-through of the game.  Establishing virtual sets and environments and then planning shots with virtual cameras to create cinematic sequences that represent the creative vision of the project. Using real-time technologies, almost any aspect of a shot can be tweaked instantaneously to improve the composition or the timing of the sequence. You will be part of the creative team that helps to support the director's vision via appropriate use of camera movement, lenses, composition, staging, lighting, and editing.

The Ideal Candidate

Possesses a good sense of composition, color, animation timing, and storytelling. They should be able to animate a wide variety of subject matter from environments, vehicles, small objects, to realistic character performances.   It will also be important to have a clear understanding of the effective use of light within an environment and be able to apply lighting techniques in-engine.  The ideal candidate will have knowledge of cinematic language, camera terminology and the ability to use in-engine effects to create realism.

We have a dynamic and fast-paced work environment that is team focused.  You will also need to be team oriented and able to successfully take direction from a supervisor and collaborate with a variety of creatives.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • An understanding of Animation within Unreal - Sequencer/Blueprints
  • An understanding of the traditional CG pipeline
  • Some knowledge of/experience in Modelling, Texturing, Shading and Lighting
  • A strong passion for games, with a keen interest in films a huge plus

Software Knowledge

  • Unreal Engine (required)
  • Autodesk Maya/Blender (required)
  • Autodesk Motion Builder (a plus)
  • Substance Painter (a plus)
