We are FuzzyBot, a new independent video game studio formed by former AAA devs with game VC backing, focused on creating co-op games that bring players together across genres and generations.

For our first title, we are building a stylized multiplayer game at the intersection of action and social gaming for the HD space (PC, Switch, Xbox and Playstation) by combining the joy of creation found in a life sim with the thrill of replayable action combat found in a roguelite.

The Audio Director role is a key contributor to the creative direction of the game. This individual will drive the audio direction of the game and create, edit, and implement game-ready audio.

We are a small and tight knit team where directors implement as well as lead their areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Creative Director to define the audio style and tone for the game
  • Define how that style is executed, including: design specifications, technical in-game requirements, audio tools and pipeline needed to achieve the goals
  • Collaborate with engineering to specify the technical audio approach and systems in the engine
  • Create and implement unique sound effects for the game
  • Identify the musical style and partner with a composer to score the game
  • Ensure all sound assets are in the game and to quality specifications
  • Work with production to grow the audio team through additional hires and vendors to deliver assets needed to achieve the audio vision

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • 4+ years audio design experience in video games
  • Professional understanding of Foley, mixing, recording, sound design, sound implementation, voice over, music implementation and localization techniques
  • Highly proficient with multitrack project mixing software/hardware and session set-up such as Pro Tools
  • Advanced experience with mixing stereo and various sound formats

Bonus:

  • Working knowledge of Unreal Engine 4 and blueprints
  • Music composition skills
  • VO recording experience

Things to consider:

  • Based in Los Angeles, but working mostly remotely and open to remote hires
  • We are currently a 10-person team looking to grow to ~25 people in 1-2 years
