GOLF+ has given people a new way to connect and play the game of golf, and we’re just getting started. We’re working hard to add new courses, new game modes, and new social features to make connecting with other players much more fun and rewarding but we are in need of talented and detailed oriented QA engineers who can help us ensure that the experience remains polished. We are looking for a QA Engineer with a game QA background and a passion for our mission.
What you will achieve
You will work with the team to organize and verify existing bugs.
You will interact with players when an issue is reported and more information is required.
You will find steps to reproduce bugs in order to provide the game engineers a clear path to implementing a fix.
You will run through pre-release checklists to ensure updates are stable before release.
You will fully test new features.
Skills you'll need to bring
Game QA Experience You’ve worked on a game as a QA tester in the past and have gained enough experience doing so to feel confident in your abilities. You’ve organized the bug list, prioritized it effectively, and worked closely with engineers to ensure that a bug is completely fixed before marking it as complete.
Detail Oriented You are able to effectively organize and prioritize a list of bugs. You’ve worked with tools such as trello or jira in order to maintain the backlog and implemented tooling to help categorize it.
Thoughtful problem solving You begin with a clear understanding of the context before diving into solving the problem. You can break down complex bugs and effectively implement a plan to hunt it down.
Ship at scale You understand that each deploy of the game goes out to hundreds of thousands of players and each of them expects a certain level of quality from our game. You must be able to test the builds before they’re released to ensure that quality is maintained.
Pragmatic and business-oriented You care about our mission and the impact of what you build in support of it. You’re don’t go down the rabbit hole to try to track down a small bug because you can see the big picture and are able to prioritize the tasks that matter most to the mission.
Empathetic in communication You communicate nuanced ideas clearly, whether you’re explaining technical decisions in writing or brainstorming in real time. In disagreements, you engage thoughtfully with other perspectives and compromise when needed. When deadlines get close and tensions are high, you don’t allow the situation to effect your teamwork.
