Huey Games is a video game development company specialising in smart console porting. We work on video games conversions for our clients, as well as creating original games for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo and others. We also create special edition digital artbooks or dynamic themes for upcoming games, working with some big industry titles like Little Nightmares 2 and No Straight Roads.
This QA role involves creating and maintaining test plans and conducting tests for in-development versions of the games to ensure they meet requirements across a range of projects and platforms. It also involves assisting in project management, to track and maintain tasks and milestones with the development team, helping us to perform efficiently and deliver on schedule. As a dynamic, growing team, it is important to have the flexibility to assist in multiple roles, and adapt to varied challenges.
It is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience working within a games development studio on a diverse range of tasks, and to lay the foundation for a career in video games design, production or programming.
Applicants must be willing and able to work remotely, able to take the initiative when needed, be solution oriented, motivated, and eager to learn and develop new skills working in video games. Ideally candidates should be based in the Greater Manchester area, with a suitable remote-working setup.
From Pinball Fantasies to LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, our team have worked on dozens of hit games and have worked directly with Disney, Warner Brothers, BBC, Universal, Sega, Microsoft, LEGO, Koch Media and, of course, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo.
Huey Games was founded in 2016 by three veterans with 50+ years of combined games industry experience. We successfully funded our first original IP, Hyper Sentinel, on Kickstarter and self-published it on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and mobile in 2018. We also launched our unique physical series of licensed Collectors USB Cassette games.
We completed three further console projects in 2020 - Radical Rabbit Stew, No Straight Roads and Switch 'N' Shoot - and we are collaborating on the development of KeyWe.
We also remain fully committed to creating original IP with our multi-award winning Wreckout and Mechinus in development.
Contenders, start your engines and prepare to enter the Wreckout arena. Pick your character, power-up your vehicle, and wheel-spin your way to ball-breaking, brick-busting glory. Featuring local and online multiplayer for 1-4 players.
In Mechinus, embark on a clockwork puzzle-platforming adventure set in a mechanical ecosystem as Cognito, a curious creature whose duty to maintain the lifecycle of this captivating world leads him on a journey to heart of the machine in order to save it.
Huey Games is an equal opportunities employer and a signed pledge partner of #RaiseTheGame. We believe that our people and our players are the most important parts of the company, and we value teamwork, community, openness and a great work-life balance.
