Kitfox Games is an independent Montreal-based game studio with a soft spot for exploring and discovering intriguing new worlds. Our values are to be committed to quality, creatively courageous, professionally respectful, and always learning. We recently released Boyfriend Dungeon and are committed to the upcoming Dwarf Fortress and Pupperazzi. If you want to learn more, visit kitfoxgames.com!

We first formed in 2013, and historically the co-founders handled all of the administration, but we're finding that's not sustainable as we grow and the studio matures. We're ready for help!

We expect it to be 10-15 hours per week to begin with, but may grow if you acquire additional responsibilities.

In particular, you'll be responsible day-to-day for:

  • Company business logistics and paperwork, such as managing the office and legal compliance
  • Banking, payment of invoices, etc.
  • Internal bookkeeping and financial records
  • Sorting incoming correspondance and redirecting it as needed
  • For example, you may be asked to pay and record invoices correctly from multiple bank accounts, forward emails, coordinate the financial year filings with the accountants, keep the office coffee supplies stocked, etc. Training will be happily provided as needed.

Requirements:

  • legally work part-time in Quebec (i.e. you must have a pre-existing Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or compatible work visa)
  • willing to relocate to Montreal, when the Kitfox office reopens fully*
  • work effectively during core hours Eastern Time, Monday-Thursday
  • patience for paperwork, bureaucracy, and other details of business administration
  • excellent communication skills (in English)

*Currently, those team members who feel safe work from the office 2 days per week. You may work remotely, on-site, or a mix of both, as you prefer.

We especially encourage marginalized groups and people from underrepresented backgrounds to apply. If you don’t have professional experience, but you’ve been involved in video games or creative businesses in some other capacity, that is deeply relevant!

Compensation and benefits:

  • Wage range for a half-time position at Kitfox: $20-35k CAD annually, depending on years of experience. Our payscale is equitable and transparent regardless of role across the studio, depending solely on seniority and experience.
  • Group health insurance, including (small amounts of) vision, dental, and therapy coverage
  • Training credit and wellness credit
  • Minimum of 4 weeks of vacation per year and plenty of sick days
  • Healthy work/life balance: overtime is heavily discouraged and rarely used at Kitfox. Company events usually take place during work hours.

How to apply:

If this sounds like your kind of opportunity, please send your CV to info@kitfoxgames.com before midnight November 7 2021.
