At League of Geeks we love bringing characters to life! We're seeking a passionate senior animator to create beautiful animations, meet the technical challenges of our games, and help our animation team flourish. You have a strong grasp of fundamental animation principles, have solid experience making animations for games and can apply appropriate techniques for maximum impact within technical and gameplay constraints.

With guidance from the creative director and lead artist, as a senior animator you will contribute to the artistic vision primarily through character animation and assist in realising the game's animated visual style. You will also be expected to provide mentorship and support to other animators, and to actively collaborate with others to improve the effectiveness of our animation pipelines and processes within Maya and Unity.

  • 5+ years relevant experience at video game development studio/s.
  • Strong knowledge of traditional animation principles and how they can be used to enhance gameplay.
  • A solid understanding of the best technical practices and requirements for making animations for videogames.
  • A strong understanding and skill for and animating body mechanics and the human bipedal figure.
  • A deep, genuine interest in a wide range of animation styles and how to achieve direction without compromising gameplay requirements.
  • The initiative, both creatively and technically, to push the quality and calibre of animation forward at the studio.
  • Detail sensitivity, a proven aesthetic eye and strong design sensibilities.
  • Excellent communication, creative collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • A commitment to working in a professional, inclusive and supportive environment.
  • A passion for motivating, inspiring, mentoring and educating your fellow team members.


  • Create and oversee animation for characters and creatures, and any kind of animation the game requires.
    With the help of technical artists, build and prototype animation pipe-lines and procedures.
  • Providing feedback and mentoring for other animators, both technical and creative.
  • Collaborate with other artists and the broader team to help bring the project vision to life.
  • Actively improve skill set by keeping up to date with industry trends and techniques.
  • Provide mentoring, feedback and assist in the career development of other team members, when relevant.
  • Conduct design research into industry best practices and design solutions.
  • High attention to detail, a proven aesthetic eye and strong design sensibilities.
  • Excellent communication, creative collaboration and teamwork skills.
