We are looking for a smart, passionate and creative artist to join our team.

We are funded but independent. We believe our studio should be a direct representation of the people who play our games.

Responsibilities:

  • Create game art for all aspects of our game, including symbol art, backgrounds, display art, etc.. 
  • Develop and maintain the overall visual style of the game.
  • Quickly prototype and create block-out assets.
  • Ability to create top down, isometric art.
  • Create high-caliber art, maintaining excellent art quality in regard to environment and asset design, color theory and layout.
  • Concept and create environmental elements, props, and architecture that enhances the game world and conveys a sense of depth and storytelling.
  • Closely collaborate with team members: contribute beyond your scope to the overall design, development, and marketing of the game.
  • Display a high degree of professionalism at all times, accepting critique from team members.

What We Expect:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a relevant position.
  • Game artist will have an art-style, or is able to adapt to an art-style that is whimsical and cartoony.    
  • 2D (visit @BlueOakBridge on Instagram to see art style required).
  • Great fundamental art skills and knowledge of graphic design principles.
  • Experience making aesthetically beautiful and performant 2D game assets.
  • Experience establishing techniques, processes and workflows for environmental assets.
  • Experience with game art optimization.
  • Eye for light, shade, color, and detail in creating painted texture maps.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work and inspire in a team environment.   
  • Self-motivated, strong work ethic, and able to work independently.
  • Creativity in problem-solving and the ability to think outside of the established solutions.
  • Excellent drawing and rendering abilities. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Proficient in Photoshop.
  • Spine 2D animation a plus but not necessary.

  • Portfolio link (website or blog required for pre-interview) displaying examples of prior work on 2D games. 
  • Samples of sketch work.
  • Layered working Photoshop.
  • CV or resume.
  • Compensation requirements.
