Lunchbox Entertainment is looking for a VFX Artist to join our team to help chart the oceans. The ideal candidate for this position is a VFX Artist who is knowledgeable about MOBA and other strategy and top-down style games. We are looking for someone with both technical and artistic skills to support us making both player and environmental VFX. 

Our game is moderately stylized. Someone who is excited by both sci-fi and fantasy VFX should feel empowered to make exciting effects. Unity experience is a must. A strong portfolio / demo reel is required. 

Lunchbox Entertainment is fully remote and is looking for developers who are adept at using Discord, and Google Meet to stay connected and interact with one another in a collaborative manner. Main office hours are between 10am - 6pm EST.

Responsibilities: 

  • Create real-time particle systems and effects in the Unity Engine
  • Work with the art director and design team to build gameplay driving VFX 
  • Collaborate with the concept art team on building out the visual look of each effect
  • Integrate VFX into the game in Unity
  • Respond to feedback from visual and gameplay perspectives

Qualifications:

  • 2+ Years of experience in the Games Industry
  • Shipped Content (Title, DLC, Itch.IO, Mods, etc) 
  • High standards of visual art execution
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling packages & other resources to build supplemental materials
    • Substance, After Effects, Photoshop, etc
  • Knowledge of shader graph
  • Ability to work within highly technical pipelines
  • Experience creating custom VFX 
  • Expert understanding of Unity Particles
  • Solid understanding of Unity Shaders
  • Technical art expertise, or experience working with a technical artist
  • Able to generate VFX content (meshes, sprites, etc)

Nice To Have: 

  • Knowledge of MOBAs or other strategy type games
  • Understanding of scripting or programming concepts
  • Animation and other technical skills are always a plus
