Messhof has an immediate opening for an experienced 3D Generalist Artist. *Obviously* this is a remote position, but generally we work PST/PDT hours although our Art Director is based in Spain so please consider applying if you are based somewhere between Los Angeles and Spain ;) We are looking for a highly involved, proactive and versatile artist to be part of a small, tight-knit indie art team where you will wear a lot of hats! If you are passionate as a well-rounded visual developer and see yourself as a single-person Swiss-army, you're our type!
3+ years of industry experience
Great 3D modeling skills, particularly comfortable in stylized visuals, preferably in Maya.
Mastery with Unity, implementing art in all areas, from worldbuilding to lighting and materials.
Openness to adapt to new tools, workflows, and styles.
Proficiency in technical art, creating shaders, implementing vfx and any sort of crazy cool demos.
Rigging and animation are a big plus.
Ability to script basic Maya tools.
Artistic training and developed taste.
Passion for games
You will work with a small team of artists in establishing the desired look for our game, and designing and implementing the most efficient workflows to make it a reality.
You will model and create a breadth of assets and take ownership of them throughout the development process.
You will communicate effectively with the team, be it needs, potential pitfalls, or timeframes
You will make sure the project art assets are kept reliably organized and within technical specs.
You will keep an open mind for unforeseen changes, seeing the opportunities to improve.
