At Multiverse, growing and supporting our creator community is at the heart of our product vision and fundamentally where the company mission began. We're building a platform to create, run and play TTRPG's that features beautiful art and a totally unique visual experience, and is both easy to use and powerfully customizable. We're seeking a Head of Community to lead our efforts to grow and support our creator community and player community. Ideally this person grows into managing all things community and marketing related, and is a major contributor to overall company launch strategy, growth strategy and product development discussions.

We don't see community as just a way to promote the latest iteration of the product, or get updates to a player base. Multiverse is a storytelling platform, and the experience of artists and writers in our community, matchmaking and group formation, the ease of making homebrew games and other community features are built into our product from the start. We're growing, we have big plans, and we want to give our community team a platform to really celebrate creators and have a big impact.

This role will cover a variety of responsibilities, but you aren't expected to do everything simultaneously. We'll work with you to figure out what your main focus should be month to month so it doesn't get overwhelming.


Community management

  • Grow & engage with the community
  • Create content and run initiatives like: creator contests, AI-powered DM's, choose-your-own-adventure stories, etc.
  • Lead and expand our moderator program, making sure mods have the tools and support they need
  • Community engagement & growth are your main focus, so this will be a big part of the job
  • You'll get support from engineering for resources like bots
  • You are not expected to double as our customer support team; we'll devote separate resources to that
  • Determine the right metrics to track and work with the team to gather & report on them

Social media management

  • Determine what channels we should be in - we're currently pretty focused on Twitter
  • Create content for those channels - GIFs and short videos especially are important for us, so comfort with video editing is a bonus
  • Collaborate with the art team to share as much of our progress as we go as possible
  • Determine what the Multiverse 'voice' is!
  • You'll work with our awesome creative director and design lead on branding and figuring out how we want to present ourselves

Early access & launch strategy

  • Most of our marketing work in the short and medium term will revolve around our early access process, and incrementally sharing more and more of the platform
  • Help craft our early access timeline and overall launch strategy
  • Some influencer outreach, especially for playtests, and major feature launches
  • Some online event coordination, ie streaming weeks, Q&A's, etc.
  • If you're interested, option to work on business development, partnerships, PR

Ideal candidate

  • We will grow this team as the company grows, and the ideal candidate will grow into a team leader and manager
  • Has relevant experience, ideally in a marketing, social media or community management role in the gaming industry, indie games especially
  • Plays (or wants to play) TTRPG's, D&D, or other roleplaying games, and can "take the pulse" and participate in conversation within these spaces
  • Can roll up their sleeves and get stuff done day-to-day, but can also step back and plan for the bigger picture
  • Willing to experiment and try new things - we don't necessarily need to do things the way they've always been done
  • Organized, detail-oriented, reliable; you're comfortable with some ambiguity and bringing structure to novel problems
  • Can create or oversee creation of video content - video editing skills would be incredibly helpful
