Hello! We are looking for a half-time marketing, video, and comms person to help us promote our games!
We're an indie team of six, give or take, split across the US and EU, currently working on and promoting two games, Demonschool (our big, longer-term project) and Hyper Gunsport (coming much sooner). While your location isn't critical, we want someone who at least overlaps somewhat with PDT morning.
We have a tough relationship with marketing - a lot of it is bad, embarrassing, or unfortunate. We like to represent ourselves genuinely, in a straightforward manner, without being too cute about it. This means we are either looking for someone who is completely genuinely themselves on the internet, or someone who is comfortable being entirely a character or mascot and embodying that. The in between is what we're not looking for. We're not looking for "edgy." We are not fans of the "hey guys" sort of video reactions, or meme-heavy accounts, we want innovation and new ideas, from new perspectives.
And personally, we are looking for someone who has a similar vibe to us, will work well with the team, is interested in the kinds of games we're making, and is good at delivering (and concieving) social media-based marketing.
So what is that vibe? We have wide-ranging media literacy, we actively participate in bundles for progressive causes and mutual aid, and are simultaneouslly goofy and a little spooky. Our team is LGBTQ+ friendly and has women in leadership roles. We like to treat people with care and consideration unless they are jerks!
What do we want from you:
We are looking for someone who can make tik tok videos and gifs to share, who can manage our mailing list, help plan little marketing pushes surrounding sales, launches, and events, interface with streamers and content creators, and generally help keep us in the public eye. We do have a small discord that could potentially grow as well. We would of course love you to also come up with weird things we haven't thought of. We like trying stuff!
You should be able to manage the analytics side yourself, and be able to prove out how campaigns do and learn from them. Luckily we're not coming from a place of zero - we have solid wishlists, good relationships with games press, other developers, and trade shows, and an okay social media following, but we do want to build, and maintain the positive momentum of our titles.
You should be a content creator with good ideas, good communication, and an interest in making metrics go up. And you must be able to demonstrate this to us in a way that is very clear, and you must have an understanding of how things work on tiktok specifically. We are looking for somebody who is chill, straightforward, but also likes spooky vibes a bit.
This job is 20 hours/week, and we don't care where you are in the world as long as you can make posts during hours when the US and EU is awake, and can interface with the team over slack, which is split across the US and EU.

Necrosoft Games has been around for 10 years now, and has made a few games, many of which have been re-released with improvements on new platforms over time. These games are: Gunhouse, Oh, Deer!, Gunsport, Hyper Gunsport, and our upcoming tactics RPG Demonschool. We will not expect you to have played these games, but we would hope that you like what you see in one vector or another if you're applying. Our individual members have worked on games like Indivisible, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, Samurai Shodown Neo Geo Collection, SNK 40th Anniversary Collection, Xeno Crisis, Sine Mora EX, Videoball, Zigurrat, Forza, 1 vs 100, Gestalt: Steam & Cinder, Plague inc, John Wick Hex, among others.
We make games in a variety of genres (racing, arcade action, puzzle, RPG), but the unifying thread is a dedication to a particular vibe, and inspiration in niche art - be that movies, games, music, or books. We make games with a specific intention from the start. You do not need to be a hardcore game payer, but we would love it if you were a hardcore game thinker, whatever that means to you.

Salary: $30k/year contract employment for 20 hours/week.

Hyper Gunsport is all about arcade action! Precision shooting and tight jumps! Clutch saves and epic slams! But the ONLY thing you can shoot is the ball!
