More about us!

Neonhive is boutique PR & Marketing agency who specialise in videogames. Everyone on the team has been in the industry for some time with experience in AAA game publishing, indie game publishing and events.

At Neonhive we believe that by offering friendly, accessible and transparent marketing support, we can create meaningful relationships between the developers and their audiences, and ultimately make those games more profitable. Our goal is to educate the developers we work with to give them a better understanding of marketing, and empower them to create more sustainable and successful titles for years to come.

The core team is small but mighty, with just three of us, but we collaborate regularly with freelancers and other agencies. As a group we're passionate about improving the industry and you'll often see us sharing and taking part in initiatives in the industry designed to do just that. For example: Korina is currently part of the very excellent Limit Break Mentoring programme and Geo is an ambassador for Safe In Our World, the games industry mental health charity.

We're also big nerds. Matt and Geo are currently obsessed with skateboards (I wonder what game kicked that off?) and Korina breeds insects in her spare time (yes really).

‍F.A.Q

  1. ‍Can I study alongside this role?
Yes! Our previous intern was completing their masters while with with us. This is why the hours listed are flexible.‍
    ‍
  2. Why is it only open to UK candidates?
Although this role is remote, we want someone UK based to keep the time zone in line with the rest of the team. We want you to get the most from this internship and to do that you'll need to be online when we are. Our core hours are 9am - 6pm UK time.‍
    ‍
  3. I have a notice period. When would we need someone to start?
    ‍
The start date is flexible but we have some great projects that we'll need help with soon so we'd rather not wait more than a month to get someone in.‍
    ‍
  4. I don't have any games industry work experience can I still apply?
    ‍
Yes you can! However we will be looking for evidence that you are a doer - please tell us about your interests, any volunteer work you do and any other jobs you've had and how you believe the skills you learnt there could be transferrable.
    ‍
  5. ‍Once the COVID situation calms, will you want the team to be office based?
    ‍
No, we all like the flexibility of working remotely so that is unlikely to change. The whole team is currently remote (Glasgow, Essex, Brighton).
  1. Is this a contractor role? Will I need to do register as a freelancer with HMRC?
    ‍
Nope, this is a short term contract so you will be on PAYE and can opt-in to our pension scheme if you wish.
