We are looking for a new team member in 3D animation (MOCAP, Unity) to join our full-time team.

The person will be responsible for modifying, fixing, cleaning, planning, and directing animations created with motion capture technology in order to comply with the established animation direction for the project. The person will also be in charge, under the supervision of the Technical Director, of integrating animations into Unity. Even if most animation will start with some mocap data, our new project is visually highly stylized and animation will need to be adapted to fit the visual style (timings, layering, exaggeration, etc).

We are looking for someone versatile, who will be able to bring a unique vision for the animation direction, all the while optimising our production pipelines to manage a substantial amount of animations. The person must be comfortable working with MOCAP data, but also creating high quality character animations from scratch. We are looking for someone who’s well versed and experienced with the technical MOCAP pipeline as well (capturing, technical problems, integration, retargeting, etc.

The ideal candidate:

  • At least 3 years working as an animator in the games industry
  • At least 1 professional title shipped
  • Excellent knowledge of 3D animation and work pipelines for video games
  • Mastery of MOCAP pipeline – Retargeting, clean-up, timings, layering, etc.
  • Mastery of the Unity engine and its animation tools a major plus
  • Versatile, proactive, fast learning and open to new things
  • Open to constructive criticism and holds their work to a high standard of quality

Since we are a french speaking team, the person must be able to communicate in french at an acceptable professional level.

Advantages:

  • Salary: Between 40 000$ and 60 000$ per year (based on experience)(CAD)
  • Work schedule: Monday - Friday 9AM to 4PM
  • Vacation days: 3 weeks of vacation and paid vacation between Christmas and New Year’s
  • Work from home: After COVID, partial work from home will be possible.
