Platform Engineer

As a platform engineer at PlayEveryWare, you’ll work alongside coders on indie and AAA teams to implement and iterate many features and systems, rapidly expanding your portfolio and areas of expertise.

You’ll face technical challenges you haven’t seen before, and may even solve problems that few others have ever encountered.

If you’re comfortable learning new technologies or codebases and have strong detective, documentation, and communication skills, you might be a great fit for this role!

What you'll do

  • Coordinate with engineering teammates and leaders on tasks, blockers, bug-fixes, and code reviews
  • Implement new features/systems in existing codebases with a focus on low-level subsystems for new platforms
  • Work directly with producers, engineers, and QA team members to isolate and fix software bugs across multiple platforms
  • Maintain and extend production-quality C, C++ and C# code following best practices, particularly for multiplatform development
  • Help ensure that all projects meet platform compliance requirements

What you'll bring

  • 2+ years of coding experience with a game studio/team
  • Solid understanding of C/C++ with working knowledge of C#
  • Excellent overall communication skills
  • Experience with Perforce/Git version control of large code bases
  • Strong debugging and problem solving skills
  • Experience using industry standard frameworks and middleware

Nice to have

  • 2+ years of experience with Unreal Engine 4 (UE4) and/or Unity
  • Experience integrating titles with Steamworks, EGS, or similar storefront tools
  • Development experience on one or more game consoles
  • Ability and willingness to work in a variety of existing codebases with outstanding code comprehension
  • Previous experience developing software in an agile environment
  • BA/BS degree in computer science or equivalent experience
