Do you love 3D art? Are you the kind of person that puts together scenes in unreal engine for fun in your spare time? Are you into video games and video game art?

Ratloop Canada’s next game is an immersive new concept set on Drosera, an alien world full of life. We’re seeking an experienced 3D artist to build and dress stylised alien biomes using Unreal Engine 5 (Nanite/Lumen). You must have experience modelling using 3ds Max, Maya or equivalent, and texturing using substance painter/designer using a PBR pipeline.

We are seeking a full-time position, located in Montreal, QC (or remote), someone who is capable of technical problem solving and is comfortable with Unreal Engine. You must enjoy working autonomously and be highly responsible, as well as strive to deliver high quality results. A willingness to learn and to solve new problems is fundamental to a being a successful team member at Ratloop Canada.

Basic Requirements

• 3+ years of professional 3D modelling experience;
• Willingness to learn technically and solve creative problems;
• Understanding of 3D graphics (real time PBR & lighting);
• Experience integrating art into game engines and using 3D art pipelines;
• Create high-quality stylized in game art assets;
• Must be proficient in 3Ds max, Maya or equivalent;
• A passion for videogames and videogame art;
• An online portfolio or reel demonstrating previous artworks;
• Self sufficient when it comes to problem solving, time management and task management.

Preferred Requirements

• Unreal engine 4/5 experience or similar game engine experience;
• Experience with blueprint (UE4/5) a plus;
• A passion for stylized art, including organic and hard surface environments.

Asset

• Proficient technical skills in Unreal Engine 5;
• Strong interest in gaming (especially shooter).

Other skills

• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities;
• Affinity with game design;
• Autonomous and resourceful, ability to take initiative;
• Good oral and written communication skills.
