Reanimated Digital, a well-funded indie studio, is seeking a talented Game Designer to join our experienced and passionate team. We are in the early stages of developing a 3D MMORPG with innovative features, and we're eager to welcome dedicated designers on board.

The ideal candidate for the Game Designer role is an individual with a strong background in designing and implementing game mechanics in the Unity engine. Our game is intended to be a non-linear fantasy adventure MMORPG. You will be working as part of an exceptional team of industry professionals, and trusted to have the autonomy to manage various aspects of your role such as the flexibility to set your working hours to meet weekly objectives. You will be part of the Design team, collaborating with the Project Manager and the rest of your team, the programming team and art team to ensure that the game's environments and features align with the creative vision and maintain the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement engaging and immersive core game mechanics and for the MMORPG, ensuring they meet the creative vision and gameplay objectives.
• Collaborate with the Programming and Art teams, as well as level designers, and other disciplines to maintain consistent, top-notch game design. This means writing extensive, useful documentation to flesh out a world to be used as a guide for developers.
• Game balance decisions and progression theory, user experience designs and documentation on these things.
• Utilise industry-standard software and tools to document decisions, optimise performance, and maintain consistent, high-quality work.
• Iterate on game designs based on playtesting, user feedback, and analytics data to improve the player experience.
• Participate in the hiring process for the Design team members and contribute to building a skilled, diverse team.
• Attend weekly design and full team meetings and scrums to keep the team informed about ongoing work.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a designer in the gaming industry, especially in open-world or MMORPG scenes.
• Expertise in industry-standard software and tools, such as Unreal Engine, Unity, World Machine, and other game design tools.
• Strong understanding of game design principles, including pacing, flow, balance, and player engagement.
• Exceptional skills in designing for video game development, with a thorough understanding of digital entertainment, technical constraints, and terminology.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Significant understanding of MMORPGs with a specific interest in Runescape, Old School or Runescape 3
