As Lead Level Design & Exploration, you will lead the team to deliver Project W’s levels and environments.
Your goal is to give players outstanding exploration sensations, in a realistic semi-open 3D world.
Drive the creation of the levels of the game, leading and synchronizing the Level Design, Gameplay and Game Art intentions and execution.
Manage the Level Design & Environment team (Level Designer, Environment Artist, Houdini Artist), providing them senior expertise and guidelines to deliver the vision of Project W’s exploration.
Making part or totality of level scripts, maps, & block-outs, in collaboration with the Game & Level Designer. Place gameplay or scripted elements and enemies. Review the levels with care.
Work with the Creative Director and Game Designers to bring innovative ideas and methodology to Level Design and Exploration.
You have a deep understanding of level design and what makes a level fun to play, especially on single player games. You can establish a vision and guide the team towards it.
You have a sharp artistic & gameplay sensibility and vision, that can inspire Level Designers and Environment Artists.
You have leading and communication skills, you can organize the work of a small team and act as “owner” of the game’s levels and environments
You like to immerse yourself into stories and translate the narrative intentions into playable levels
You love 3D RPGs, exploration or action games (if you like Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest or Persona it's even better).
At least 3 years experience, including work on shipped 3D titles.
Experience with Unreal Engine
Experience as lead is a plus
You’re ideally willing to work in Montpellier, France. Sandfall offices are located near the city center, in a hub with 5 other companies, all working in entertainment! We’re also open to full remote positions.
You need to be able to communicate in English, speaking French is a plus.
Salary range depending on experience and position.
Position starting in Autumn 2022.
