We are looking for a 2D concept artist who can work with both artists and designers to develop strong character and creature designs, as well as usable model sheets for 3D artists for an upcoming stylized 3D game in production. This position can be remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate a wide range of concepts and ideas for characters and creatures in context of the game world
  • Refine rough ideas into clean, comprehensible designs that can be passed onto production artists for modelling
  • Collaborate with game designers to express gameplay functionality through visual concepts
  • Help visualize broad, big-picture creative ideas to explore the world-building and aesthetic of the game

Qualifications:

  • Strong 2D art skills with a strong grasp of characterization
  • Experience executing a wide range of stylized artistic styles
  • Experience working on a video game project with a team
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas and needs
  • Detail-oriented

Bonuses:

  • 3D art skills and experience
  • Skills in other forms of concept art such as environment and prop concepts
  • Experience and willingness to help with 2D production art, such as texturing
  • Interest in narrative and world-building, as well as organic subjects/characters/creatures
  • Passion for games and the video game industry
  • Shipped a commercially developed game
