Signal Space is currently looking for an intermediate to senior Game Designer with proven Music/Sound production experience to join our current team developing an awesome Music Based Adventure Puzzle Game. Our ideal candidate should have a similar level of experience in both Game Design and Music/Sound production.

This is a very specific position so only candidates with proven experience in both fields will be considered. We encourage candidates from outside Montreal/Canada to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to develop design documents and overviews for elements such as  game features, functionality, economy, analytics
  • Support our current design team by bringing your Musical knowledge in the context of Game Design.
  • Bridging the gap between Design - Programming and Creative Direction by unifying the teams communication language around music.
  • Work in a “rapid-prototype” approach and direct a team in development/iteration of features and functionality
  • Work in the engine tweaking, tuning, and scripting with your features and requesting tools to assist in the development
  • Develop, maintain, and iterate the overall gameplay vision together with the development team
  • Work with the project managers to assess the workload vs production capacity, plan the development and assist in setting priorities

Skills

  • Knowledge of Unity
  • Knowledge of audio middleware software (Wwise)
  • Proven Experience working with Midi, sampling and sequencers. Proven Knowledge of current DAW’s (Pro Tools, Logic, Reaper, Cubase). A test might be requested.
  • Understand consumer needs and ensure that the elements developed by the team will contribute to player satisfaction and enjoyment.
  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritize, and organize work to meet objectives.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to analyze situations and adapt design, approach and direction appropriately

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in area related to Music Theory and/or Music Technology.
  • A college diploma in Game Design or equivalent (undergraduate degree an asset)
  • 3+ years of game/audio design experience plus a track record as a game designer for successful, published video games.

About Our Games

We Happy Few: Uncle Jack Live VR is an interactive extension from the video game We Happy Few, developed by Compulsion Games. We combined cinematic and CGI styles to bring a dynamic piece where players will have access to the game’s archives and the chance to build a full news broadcast with Uncle Jack, the main antagonist and celebrity figure of the town Wellington Wells.

In-studio, users will decide what type of articles go live, each article effecting Uncle Jack’s reaction. Good or bad he will try to maintain the town under a controlled state of mind called ‘joy’.

Unfold your child's imagination through origami and augmented reality. With My Paper World, kids will explore a world in trouble, full of pollution that needs to be removed using their creations such as trees, animals and more!
