Signal Space Lab is an interactive creation studio in Montreal, QC in Canada specializing in immersive XR entertainment, video games, and audio production. Our goal is to advance in the art of interactive media by imaging and producing original, innovative, and memorable experiences that materialized into sounds, visuals, and gaming environments.

We are now on the lookout for a motivated Intermediate/Senior Level Designer who thinks differently about entertainment, interactivity, and reality in general.

SKILLS

  • Expertise with Unreal Engine 4.
  • Strong scripting ability (Blueprint). 
  • Strong Environment/Layout creation and iteration skills. 
  • Eye for creating settings for tactical engagements where line of sight is key.
  • Ability to design and implement missions and objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and maintain high quality Level Design and Mission Design Documents 
  • Creating layouts from gray block geometry to polished form. 
  • Using the Unreal Blueprint tools to script triggers, combat, stealth gameplay, objectives and scripted events. 
  • Work closely with other designers and programmers/artists/animators.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of game/level design experience plus a record of designing levels for successful, published software products. 
  • Experience as a level designer for published PC and/or Digital console titles.
  • Experience developing levels for turn-based games or cover-based shooters a plus.

ABOUT OUR GAMES

After the tragic death of their 5-year-old son, a family struggles with his loss and attempts to mend their frayed bonds. Experience the struggle through the child’s ghostly eyes and explore Afterlife’s multiverse of different realities as the family acknowledges his absence, or presence, in their own lives. Using a cutting-edge VR filming technique, Afterlife takes the audience through branching narratives that seamlessly reveals a story that shifts based on the characters that the player chooses to follow and the objects activated within the environment.

We Happy Few: Uncle Jack Live VR is an interactive extension from the video game We Happy Few, developed by Compulsion Games. We combined cinematic and CGI styles to bring a dynamic piece where players will have access to the game’s archives and the chance to build a full news broadcast with Uncle Jack, the main antagonist and celebrity figure of the town Wellington Wells.

In-studio, users will decide what type of articles go live, each article effecting Uncle Jack’s reaction. Good or bad he will try to maintain the town under a controlled state of mind called ‘joy’.

Unfold your child's imagination through origami and augmented reality. With My Paper World, kids will explore a world in trouble, full of pollution that needs to be removed using their creations such as trees, animals and more!
