Snowcastle Games is an independent game developer with big ambitions and a record to prove it.

Join an experienced team that is passionate about making exceptional games! Your role will be integral to the success of our next big project and to the company. We are looking for an experienced, versatile and passionate Gameplay programmer. As well as being the author of several gameplay systems, the successful candidate will have a significant say in the technical direction of the project.


  • BS – MS in Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2+ years professional experience working with Unreal Engine 4.
  • Strong general programming skills with a willingness to contribute in many areas.
  • Experience working in a dev team or have shipped a title.
  • Comfortable working within an established code base and conforming to existing code standards and best practices.
  • Working knowledge of 3d Math / trigonometry.
  • Passion for computer games.
  • Strong communication skills (English is our working language).


  • Experience developing for consoles (Xbox One, PS4 and Switch).
  • Experience with Unreal’s Gameplay Ability System.
  • Experience with Unreal’s behaviour trees.

Snowcastle Games is an independent game developer based in Oslo, Norway. Founded in 2009, Snowcastle Games launched their first feature title in 2011, which made the App Store Best of 2011 List. After five years in development, including a successful Kickstarter campaign, their highly anticipated RPG; Earthlock, the first in the Earthlock Trilogy was released. Snowcastle is currently in development of Earthlock 2.

The team counts 20+ of whom work from the Oslo studio – the rest remotely from several countries on both sides of the Atlantic. We are a mix of seasoned industry veterans and young talents.
