We’re looking for a 3D Artist to help craft a new game at Snowman in downtown Toronto.

You’ll be joining a small collaborative team where you’ll work closely with our Lead Artist and Level Designers to craft beautiful, optimized worlds. This is a contract position concluding in May, 2022. The role is full-time and onsite with occasional opportunities to work from home. Please note that during COVID-19 times we're completely set up for remote work for the safety of our team.


  • Great understanding of asset optimization
  • Can create clean and efficient low-poly models, UVs and textures while keeping in mind design and tech constraints
  • Excellent understanding of colour theory, lighting and composition
  • Good knowledge of Unity game engine is preferred
  • Ability to work efficiently under short deadlines


  • Work with the Art team to model and texture stylized 3D environments and props
  • Translate 2D concepts into efficient 3D assets without compromising on the art style
  • Self motivated with the ability to create assets with minimal concept art and direction


  • Excellent communication skills and open to feedback
  • 2+ years experience as a game artist
  • 2+ years experience with Autodesk Maya and Adobe Photoshop
  • Based in Toronto, or willing to relocate

Bonus - It’s nice to have, but not required

  • At least 1 shipped (non-student) title, preferably in Unity
  • Experience with creating assets for mobile games
  • Broad interests and artistic sensibilities

Snowman is a small studio at the centre of artful experiences. Whether as a developer or creative partner, our goal has always been the same: to create meaningful experiences that you may sit with for a short time, but that sit with you for a long while.

Founded in 2012 with the release of the to-do app Checkmark, we went on to launch Shifts, Circles, and Super Squares before collaborating with Harry Nesbitt on Alto’s Adventure and Alto’s Odyssey. In September 2019, Snowman released Where Cards Fall and Skate City exclusively on Apple Arcade. On the horizon is DISTANT; our collaboration with Slingshot and Satchel.

Our Games

The Alto Collection brings both the critically acclaimed and beloved Alto’s Adventure and Alto’s Odyssey into one experience for the first time. A whole new group of players will finally be able to see what millions of others have discovered as they explore the ivory snows and the endless desert on the big screen in one collection.

Join mountain shepherd Alto and friends as they set out to rescue their escaped llamas and find the adventure of a lifetime. In this collection, you will journey across the beautiful alpine hills of their native wilderness and soar above windswept dunes in a fantastical place far from home. Each procedurally-generated run provides new inspiration and a fresh set of challenges that seamlessly blends our unique landscapes together.

Where Cards Fall is a slice of life puzzle game where you build houses of cards to bring formative memories to life. Create pathways through dreamlike spatial puzzles to navigate the insecurities and emotions of high school and beyond.

Along with helping you solve puzzles, the houses of cards give each scene a distinct identity and sense of place. As you solve them, you’ll gain small glimpses into our characters’ lives, uncovering memories within the houses of cards. While the puzzles gently flow into each other, things don’t always conclude neatly.

DISTANT takes you on a wondrous voyage through pastel dreamscapes, to prevent a calamity from consuming the world you once knew. Along the way, you’ll confront an inescapable past, and learn how much you're willing to sacrifice in your search for solace.
