Our most recent game, Sky, is our most complex undertaking to date. It is a social network built around the values inherited from a powerful humanistic story. As Sky continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced associate-level Community Manager to help us keep up with the growing community of players active in the game, Discord, and social media. Our ideal candidate is a veteran Sky player with experience working in Community Management at a video game studio or related agency. You are already skilled in core aspects of Community Management and are looking to expand your skillset. You have a natural curiosity and are eager to take ownership of projects and provide mentorship to junior members of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a public-facing representative of thatgamecompany, creating engagement opportunities at in-person and online events as needed.
  • Drive thatgamecompany’s livestream strategy through innovation and collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Leverage owned community channels to keep players informed about service outages, social opportunities, et cetera
  • Moderate online conversations on our owned marketing and community channels (social media, Discord, groups, livestreams, etc).
  • Monitor and report on sentiment, feedback, and trends in the live game community.
  • Assist in the management of thatgamecompany’s beta programs
  • Interact with the external Sky Player Support team to share and solve issues.
  • Display a professional, positive, and enthusiastic demeanor to employees and customers.
  • Use provided resources to research customer issues and flag outdated or missing content.
  • Coordinate with Player Support and Brand teams to ensure consistency in brand tone.
  • Work alongside and provide support for our core of community volunteers
  • Participate in companywide playtests as the voice of the player community

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A deep understanding of thatgamecompany’s core values and vision.
  • Passion for Sky and a deep understanding of its players.
  • Highly proficient in written and spoken English.
  • 1 to 2 years of Community Management experience.
  • Experience with livestreams, and an enthusiasm for being on-camera
  • Familiarity with Discord and bot commands.
  • Has proven good judgment in navigating and resolving sensitive situations online.
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Nice to Haves

  • Basic editing knowledge of Photoshop.
  • Experience in mobile free-to-play games.
  • Technical writing experience
