We're searching for a highly talented and passionate QA Game tester to join the team. As QA Game tester, you will work closely with the QA Manager to define the quality of our game. You'll become an expert who will challenge and explore the unknown. The ideal candidate is a well-organized with a strong, hands-on background and devotion to sharing on a small team.

Our goal is to build a supportive team of strong communicators and area specialists that love to collaborate across discipline lines to create exciting experiences for friends to enjoy together. We are committed to remote working and already have team members across North America.

This position will be working no more than 25 hours a week

  • Proficient at working in a fully remote team environment. We balance synchronous and asynchronous communication across multiple time zones to get things done. 
  • Proactive at identifying areas of concern and independently acting on them. We're a small team and the impact of each person is huge! 
  • Considerate with feedback in both directions. We work to always receive feedback gracefully, deliver feedback constructively, and have discussions and disagreements respectfully.
  • Persistent at maintaining a healthy perspective about the larger game we’re building together. We do the extra work to value every team member's point of view and we’re looking for fresh perspectives, especially of those from diverse backgrounds. 
  • Excited to work on cooperative games with a focus on fun experiences with friends. We're making games we want to play!

Responsibilities

  • Identifying, analyzing, and reporting bugs 
  • Day-to-day test case execution and exploratory testing 
  • Creation of test cases, test suites, and test plans 
  • Working closely with other dev team experts in testing our game end to end 
  • Working in Jira with integrated tools like Zephyr to report, track and resolve defects in all our systems to ensure problems are identified and addressed 
  • Refining and improving our test methodologies and maturing our testing process to meet the needs of the company where we are at and where we heading

 

Requirements

  • Online availability during our core hours of 10 am to 3pm PST
  • Experience working in a remote environment using sprint-based agile methodologies 
  • Knowledge of Software Quality Assurance processes and methodologies in games is essential 
  • Proficiency with Jira or similar tools 
  • Knowledge of Zephyr or similar testing tools 
  • Knowledge of Unreal Engine
  • Experience in testing games in early development 
  • Having shipped at least one game 
  • Experience in supporting a live product 
  • Interest in growing within the QA field

 

Compensation

The standard minimum base pay for this role is $16.00 per hour. Actual pay will vary depending on experience, performance, and location.
