Turn Me Up is looking for a creative and dedicated Technical Animator responsible for rigging characters and implementing them into Unreal, as well as setting up Live Link Animation Blueprints.

The Technical Animator will be an excellent problem solver with strong and varying technical knowledge and a solid understanding of the Game Animation pipeline.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work with the Lead Animator to create character rigs for motion capture
  • Create and adjust blendshapes that adhere to ARKit blendshapes
  • Create any necessary tools to allow implementation of rigs into Unreal
  • Assist in setting up animation Blueprints for animation implementation
  • Assist in solving technical challenges in the pipeline
  • Work closely with Lead Animator to troubleshoot and fix problems arising in the course of production
  • Creating and maintaining game animation pipeline tools
  • Provide animation technical support
  • Create technical and end user documentation for assets, tools, techniques and workflows
  • Educate and involve team in pipeline tool best practices

What Would Make a Strong Candidate:

  • Excellent technical problem solving skills
  • Good communicator at a technical level
  • Strong understanding of blendshapes and custom rigging
  • Strong understanding of Blueprints
  • Passionate about games
  • A desire to always be learning more
  • Experience in Unreal 4, Maya, Blender, and 3DS Max
  • Python and Mel Scripting is a plus
  • Someone who works independently but also communicates well with a team
  • Willingness to receive feedback
  • Openness to change direction at an opportunity to improve the pipeline

Application Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of Unreal and Maya
  • Portfolio demonstrating relevant artistic skills and past work
  • Bachelor's degree in Art, Animation or related field
