Reporting to the Head of Digital Design, the Instructor of 3D Graphics is responsible for delivering curriculum effectively and providing feedback to students. The Instructor has a deep knowledge of the principles of 3D modeling and animation using CINEMA 4D, as well as an understanding of motion graphics and interactive design utilizing Adobe Creative Suite software, particularly Adobe After Effects. The position of 3D Graphics Instructor is a part-time position. Core Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Work closely with the Head of Department to ensure class curriculum is accurate, up-to-date and communicated to students in a clear and concise manner.
  • In consultation with other staff, develop innovative mechanisms to teach industry relevant 3D Graphics techniques.
  • Provide students with guidance on issues relating to 3D Graphics and the CINEMA 4D Software
  • Instruct students on the various technical problems encountered during 3D Graphics production and appropriate pipelines to reduce these problems. Mentor students through the various snags encountered during the creation of 3D Graphics.
  • Participate in departmental projects related to promotion and student experience
  • Work with staff in other departments on cross-departmental collaborative projects Provide students with instruction based upon existing and evolving curriculum.
  • Class attendance and grading including providing students with regular feedback.
  • Attendance at staff meetings.

 

Education/Qualifications/Experience:

  • Post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree (or equivalent) and/or 3 years industry experience or software certification where applicable
  • Proven proficiency with Maxon CINEMA 4D an asset, Adobe After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, and Illustrator a benefit
  • Demonstrable familiarity and experience with 3D Graphics.
  • Ability to lead workshops, lectures and seminars.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, time management and interpersonal skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills.
