Blacktop Hoops is the world’s first competitive VR streetball game. Chain together flashy dribble tricks, shots, and high-flying dunks to finish off opponents in epic games of arcade basketball. As a 3D Animator you will focus on setting the bar for character animations for a competitive single player and multiplayer basketball game for VR platforms.

You are a 3D animator looking to build the next generation of competitive virtual reality games. You have multiple years of production experience creating dynamic and expressive animations for gameplay and cinematics. Ideally you have experience working with game designers utilizing the Unity Editor to create expressive characters.

Examples of things you could work on:

• Processing and stylizing batches of basketball gameplay animations such as dribbling, shooting, defending, and dunking
• Creating cinematics animations for use within in-game cinematics
• Skinning and rigging characters
• Adjusting animations based on feedback from design team
• Design IK & animations systems for use in multiplayer

Requirements

• Advanced knowledge of animation within a game engine and knowledge of game engine implementation (Unity preferred)
• Excellent understanding of human mechanics, timing, appeal, and excellent eye for core animation principles (e.g. timing, weight)
• Experience with cleaning and adjusting mocap animations
• Expert knowledge in creating high quality keyframe animation and motion-captured animation
• Expert knowledge of gameplay animation, from idles to locomotion and how they work within gamelay
• Advanced rigging & skinning knowledge
• Self-driven and motivated, you should have ownership of your animation from start to finish, meeting necessary deadlines.
