Blacktop Hoop is the world’s first competitive VR streetball game. Chain together flashy dribble tricks, shots, and high-flying dunks to finish off opponents in epic games of 1-on-1 arcade basketball. As a Game Developer you will focus on expanding on both single player and multiplayer systems allowing players to play dynamic, highly replayable AI and also contribute to developing our multiplayer

You are a mid-level Full Stack Software Engineer looking to build the next generation of competitive virtual reality games. You have multiple years of experience with the Unity Editor (or other 3D game engines like Unreal) and are familiar with single player and multiplayer engineering design patterns.


Examples of things you could work on:

  • Implement gameplay and support systems in a VR game
  • Contribute to game design and balancing mechanics to improve single player and multiplayer experience
  • Adjusting AI systems to create dynamic, responsive characters
  • Work with other disciplines to implement UI, graphics, animations, and audio
  • Work with IK, mocap animations, and AI trees to develop dynamic AI opponents
  • Optimizing single player and multiplayer across multiple platforms
  • Collaborating in conjunction with QA and product to quickly resolve bugs reported by players in a timely manner



  • Create VR software within a highly dynamic and iterative team environment
  • Design, develop, test and maintain quality code and documentation
  • Work as a team, contributing to important design decisions and conversations
  • Develop prototypes and experiments, while researching and recommending novel ideas, new tools, and technologies
  • Work autonomously to solve technical design and development problems across the team
  • Implement code that is performant on low spec devices like Oculus Quest



  • 3+ years professional software development experience in Unity and C#
  • Must have experience shipping full-feature games to market.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience working in self-managed, fast-paced environments
  • Strong experience with designing complex and responsive AI systems
  • Extensive experience with inverse kinematics and animations
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Experience with networking tool set like Photon
  • Experience with network programming related to game design
