Hey there! We are looking for a part-time Contract Game Developer/Engineer for a remote position aimed at exploring new studio relationships and positions. The ideal candidate is an experienced, architecture and process oriented developer who is passionate about the games industry. We are a small team looking to develop products of increasing quality so we are looking for a driven game dev that has created and released commercial games.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work on a team to develop internal Weathered Sweater projects or projects for our various clients
Design and implement architecturally sound features including–but not limited to–UI, gameplay, sound, art, and animations
Implement systems and set up tools to help make development easier for the team
Write unit tests, test features, and ensure products are stable and polished
Provide code reviews to other developers on the team to make sure code quality is consistent and maintainable
Create placeholder assets for prototyping systems or implementing content
Write and mainin design and programming documentation
Keep project management boards and documents up-to-date (Trello, Monday.com, Google Docs, etc)
Work as part of a team to consistently meet deadlines, produce documentation, and pitch against challenge criteria
Requirements and Experience:
Proficient with Unity (you can confidently build an entire, stable, architecturally sound and maintainable game on your own using Unity C#)
Great sense of aesthetic (you have proven that you can make a game look and feel good)
Ability to work with and manage client relationships alongside a producer and other developers
Deeply interested in improving the world through media such as games, comics, film, animation, etc
Strong documentation skills and habits (you can write a design document and keep it up-to-date, and can also create UI/UX flow charts and layouts)
Intermediate to expert-level understanding of Git and Source Control
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Experience working with small teams and picking up additional game dev tasks as necessary
Nice to Haves:
Experience building and maintaining dev ops processes for Unity deployments to Steam, mobile, and console platforms
Experience with or a strong desire to learn HTML5 development
Experience with xAPI and SCORM
Ability to create shippable quality UI assets in a pinch
Has hobbies that aren’t just gaming-related

We have a 32 hour work week culture which means that our team mates do not exceed 32 hours of work per week on average
We strive to eliminate crunch and overwork, so professionalism and strong risk management skills are crucial to success. Failing that, a heavy week of work at Weathered Sweater is 40 hours.
Compensation: Rates determined by contractor

Location: Though remote, we are mainly looking at candidates that can work in Eastern Time (ET).
