Hey there!

Well Told is an indie game company that focuses on balancing good stories and tight gameplay for cutting-edge platforms and mediums. We are working on an unannounced 3D title in Unreal Engine and are seeking a 3D Animator. We need some help bringing our current set of prototype animations to a polished state.

You’ll work with all types of creatures and rigs, and gain experience in bringing detail and life to a variety of characters.

Job Details

• Freelance.
• January 2023 start date.
• In-person or remote (local preferred).
• Location: Orange County, CA.

Responsibilities include:

• Bring existing prototype animations up to a polished state
• Follow animation guides and references to keep character performances consistent
• Create polished locomotion, combat, acting animations for characters and creatures
• Refine and iterate with notes from Animation Director
• Export animations and bring them into the engine
• Collaborate with Design and Engineering teams to ensure proper representation and function of characters

Requirements

• 2+ years of game animation experience
• Strong understanding of animation fundamentals and characterization
• Proficiency in Maya

Bonus Points:

• Unreal engine experience
• VR experience
• FPS experience
• Some experience or basic knowledge of rigging
• Animbot tool experience
