We’re seeking a Content Manager who lives and breathes indie games, loves finding hidden gems, and is eager to help shape the future of Armor Games’ web platform.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate is an indie game enthusiast and digital curator who thrives on discovering gems and nurturing relationships with developers. You’ll scout, evaluate, negotiate, and launch new titles on ArmorGames.com, manage ongoing site content updates, and collaborate with the publishing team at Armor Games Studios to help promote their new releases.

You’ll also play a creative role in revamping site engagement, introducing fresh marketing ideas (like hosting playable demos, seasonal events, or spotlight features), and helping bring transactional growth through MMO partnership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curate new web games for release on ArmorGames.com, with a strong focus on indie titles that align with the site’s creative spirit and community.
  • Scout and connect with developers through platforms like Newgrounds, itch.io, Twitter/X, BlueSky, Reddit, and Discord, fostering lasting partnerships.
  • Coordinate game onboarding with developers, negotiate terms of licenses, collect tax forms, handle invoicing, and ensure integrations, metadata, and launch timing are executed smoothly.
  • Refresh and manage homepage content spotlighting trending games, seasonal events, and developer features.
  • Collaborate with Armor Games Studios to align marketing for major launches and host playable demos or previews on the site.
  • Source and evaluate new MMOs suitable for the Armor Games audience, negotiating partnership or hosting opportunities to boost recurring revenue.
  • Propose and execute creative site initiatives to engage and re-engage users
  • Analyze site performance metrics and user engagement data to identify growth opportunities.
  • Stay up-to-date with the indie gaming landscape, browser tech, and online community trends to keep the platform relevant and inspiring.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge and passion for indie games and online gaming culture.
  • Actively involved in the indie scene — familiar with itch.io, small dev collectives, game jams, and emerging trends.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with developers and players alike.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when managing multiple ongoing projects.
  • Comfortable using tools like Google Workspace and Slack

Preferred / Bonus Qualifications

  • Familiarity with development in web-based game technologies (HTML5, Unity WebGL, Ruffle, etc)
  • Experience in content curation, game publishing, or developer relations.
  • Experience with WordPress and light HTML/CSS editing for content updates.
  • Understanding of digital marketing, SEO, and analytics tools
  • Background in creative campaign ideation — designing events, community features, or unique promotions.
