Howdy.

We're Brainfruit, an independent creative studio with a full spectrum of interests and a singular focus on entertainment. We make games, apps, and other playful things. We're looking for a creator and social media manager to help the right people learn about us and our work.

This is a remote, contract position 15–20 hours a week, with a trial period to start. You'll report to Jen, our head of ops, and collaborate closely with the rest of the team.

The target start date is December 1, 2026.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, and we especially encourage people from groups under-represented in games and tech to apply.

The Job

This role will manage creator outreach and social posting while collaborating with us on the strategy behind it all. This role will balance promoting the studio itself with a focus on our first few releases. Sheeps, a counting roguelike, is coming out on Steam next year, and MOSS, a magical sketchpad, is releasing on iOS in the next month or two. We also have a back catalog and many new projects coming down the pipe.

Core responsibilities

  • Research and develop relationships with influencers that love our work. Plan, pitch, and execute on ways that we can work together on cool projects.
  • Maintain the influencer and content creator database with important channel and game information.
  • Collaborate, manage and execute on the social media strategy for the studio and our games and apps. Create, schedule, post, engage and track content, including images and video.
  • Report back on what's working, using platform analytics and the tools available to you.
  • Share learnings with your teammates so we all have more context for how we work in our online and live spaces.

Growth opportunities

These responsibilities aren't expected on day one as they may not fit within the hours at first. They're where the role could grow.

  • Running paid social campaigns on a budget across Meta, Reddit, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Managing Brainfruit’s Discord community, Smoothie Bar
  • Collaborate on Brainfruit’s marketing strategy across games and apps

What you bring

  • Genuine enjoyment of social media and fluency in how the platforms work.
  • Real experience working with creators. It doesn't have to be in games though an interest in games is a plus.
  • Fluency in the streaming ecosystem: how streamers and Twitch and YouTube Live work, how streamers choose what to play, and how to pitch them.
  • Ability to create and edit video for social media.
  • Experience negotiating paid creator deals is a plus.
  • Experience with analytics tools is a plus, but we're happy to collaborate closely.

About you

You enjoy social media. You like to write. You probably watch streamers, and you know what makes a game fun to watch. You're comfortable with analytics and happy to let the numbers tell you what to try next. You have a growth mindset: when you don't know how to do something, you feel comfortable asking for help or figuring it out.

Compensation and logistics

  • Contract role with a trial period.
  • 15–20 hours a week.
  • $40 - $65 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Fully remote with some overlap needed for US Eastern time

How to apply

Email us with the subject line "Creator and Social Media Manager." Please include:

  • Your resume
  • A portfolio if available or links to your social media
  • A cover letter or a short intro in the body of the email
  • Your rate expectations

Final thoughts

Even if your resume is short or doesn't follow the usual path, we'd still love to hear from you. We're looking for someone who solves problems creatively and communicates and collaborates well, and a long resume doesn't guarantee either one. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds.

About
Brainfruit

Brainfruit is an independent creative studio founded in 2025 by veterans of late-night TV writers' rooms and powerhouse software companies. We bring high-production, big-audience muscle to work that is playful, tactile, and pointed. We want you to have fun and feel something, because we believe those are the two major components of a memorable experience.

We work on several projects at once, partly to reach people in every corner of our fragmented media landscape, and partly because it's just how our heads work. You can see what we've made at brainfruit.studio.’

We work collaboratively, often tossing projects back and forth across the team. We work remotely and deeply respect one another’s commitments outside of Brainfruit.

Can you count? Are you sure? Earn powerful upgrades in Sheeps, a chaotic counting roguelite, to survive increasingly difficult challenges. Meet colorful, totally trustworthy characters and find out why an endless supply of sheep is pouring through a mysterious rift. 1, 2, 7, 56… oh dang it!

Starfriends is Brainfruit's punchy new social card game about getting inside your friends’ heads and decoding what “four stars” actually means to them.

Tidebreakers is a city-council simulator for six players and unlimited spectators. Occasionally playable online.
