About DuskSoft Studios

DuskSoft Studios is an independent game studio developing Absolute Territory: Duels of the Gods, an anime-inspired tactical card battler for PC.

Players take the role of a newly awakened deity, collect followers in the form of cards, and command them in strategic duels spanning three distinct realms: medieval fantasy, futuristic science fiction, and post-apocalyptic chaos.

The game is currently in active development, with its Steam page live and an external playtest approaching. We have a growing collection of finished artwork, characters, gameplay systems, and development updates—but need someone who can consistently turn that material into compelling social media content.

About the Role

We are looking for an individual freelance Social Media Manager and Content Creator who genuinely understands online gaming and anime culture.

You will receive access to a playable Windows build of the game, existing artwork, brand materials, and information about current development. Rather than waiting for finished promotional content to be handed to you, you should be comfortable playing the game, identifying interesting moments, capturing your own gameplay footage and screenshots, and transforming them into platform-appropriate content.

This is a hands-on creative role. We want someone who can look at the game, understand what makes it interesting, and find entertaining, attractive, or memorable ways to present it to potential players.

The initial scope is focused on organic social media content and light community engagement. Full-time moderation, paid advertising management, and traditional press relations are not currently expected.

Responsibilities

  • Play the game and identify visually interesting, funny, dramatic, or informative moments.
  • Capture clean gameplay footage, screenshots, and short clips.
  • Edit short-form vertical videos for platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
  • Create additional image, GIF, meme, development-update, character-focused, and text-based posts.
  • Write engaging captions that match the game’s established voice.
  • Adapt content appropriately for the agreed social platforms rather than blindly posting identical material everywhere.
  • Maintain a simple, organized content calendar.
  • Schedule and publish approved content consistently.
  • Monitor comments and engage appropriately with interested players.
  • Stay aware of relevant anime, gaming, card-game, and social-media trends without forcing trends that do not fit the game.
  • Review basic performance data and make recommendations based on what is working.
  • Provide a short weekly report covering content performance, audience response, link activity, and lessons for future posts.
  • Communicate regularly with the developer about upcoming features, announcements, and content opportunities.

Expected Starting Cadence

The exact content mix may evolve as we learn what performs best, but the initial target is approximately:

  • Three short-form videos or comparable gameplay clips per week.
  • Two additional image, GIF, character, meme, or development-focused posts per week.
  • Platform-specific captions and scheduling.
  • Light comment and community engagement.
  • One short weekly planning check-in.
  • One concise weekly performance summary.

Quality, consistency, and thoughtful experimentation matter more than simply producing the highest possible number of posts.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong creative instincts and an understanding of what makes short-form content engaging.
  • Experience editing video content for social platforms.
  • Clear, entertaining written communication.
  • Familiarity with anime, video games, or their surrounding online communities.
  • A Windows PC capable of playing and recording the game smoothly.
  • The ability to work independently, manage a small weekly workload, and meet agreed deadlines.
  • Comfort receiving feedback and adapting content to an established brand.
  • Reliable communication and professional handling of unreleased game content.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

A formal marketing degree is not required. A massive personal following is not required. We care much more about your creative judgment, the quality of your work, your understanding of the audience, and your reliability.

Helpful but Not Required

  • Experience creating content for an indie game or gaming brand.
  • Familiarity with trading card games, deck builders, tactical games, gacha games, or anime-style games.
  • Experience managing or growing a social media account.
  • Familiarity with Steam wishlists, demos, and playtests.
  • Experience with Discord or gaming community management.
  • Basic graphic-design or motion-graphics ability.
  • Knowledge of tools such as DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, Photoshop, GIMP, or similar software.

Compensation and Trial Period

This is a paid freelance contract offering $15–$20 USD per hour, depending on experience, for approximately 8–10 hours per week.

The selected candidate will begin with a paid 30-day trial. If the working relationship is successful, the role may continue on an ongoing monthly basis and potentially expand as the game and its community grow.

Selected finalists may be invited to complete a small paid content exercise. DuskSoft Studios will not request unpaid speculative work.

How to Apply

Please send an email with the following:

  • A short introduction and why this project interests you.
  • Links to relevant videos, social posts, portfolios, or accounts.
  • A clear explanation of what you personally created or managed in each example.
  • Any experience you have with gaming, anime, card games, or related communities.
  • Your current location or time zone.
  • Your typical weekly availability.
  • Your requested hourly rate within the listed range.
  • Your preferred video-editing and content-creation tools.

Applications from individual freelancers are preferred. Please do not submit agency proposals.

DuskSoft Studios welcomes applicants from different backgrounds and levels of formal experience. If you understand the audience, produce excellent work, and believe you can help people discover something special in Absolute Territory: Duels of the Gods, we would love to hear from you.

About
DuskSoft Studios
DuskSoft Studios is a single-dev game company focused on making games people actually want to play while having fun doing it. While I started my latest project in December 2025, I was inspired to start building games a decade ago when I felt the market just didn't have everything that I wanted to play. Hence, starting my own studio.

Absolute Territory: Duels of the Gods is a free-to-play anime collectible card battler where rival deities settle their disputes using the Followers they command.

Recruit warriors, monsters, misfits, and miracles from Fantasy, Sci-Fi, and Post-Apocalyptic realms. Combine Followers with powerful spells, build multiple decks, and discover new strategies across a growing collection of cards.
