I’m Ethan, founder of Odd Garden Studios, a small Canadian multimedia studio based in Montreal. We’re developing an original IP, starting with a narrative-driven single-player adventure game with strong potential to expand into animation. We’ve already been pre-qualified for a well-respected Prototyping Program. We now need expert support to finalize and submit a strong application to secure non-dilutive prototyping funding.

We’re looking for: A seasoned grant writer or funding consultant who:

• Has proven experience writing successful applications for Canadian cultural and interactive media grants, ideally Canadian-based including CMF, SODEC, or similar provincial/federal creative industry funding
• Is conversationally fluent in English (all communication will be in English)
• Excels at translating detailed creative documents (Game Design Documents, IP bibles, concept art, etc.) into compelling, professional grant narratives and budgets
• Understands the realities of early-stage indie studios, creative tech projects, and non-dilutive grant-funded development
• Can work efficiently under a tight timeline

What we offer:

• Upfront payment for the grant writing and consultation work (rate TBD based on your experience and proposed scope. We’re open to discussion)
• Clear, well-defined short-term deliverable: complete a high-quality CMF Prototyping Program application ready for submission by May 10th
• Potential for ongoing collaboration: once funding is secured, we’d love to work with you on future grant rounds, reporting, or additional funding opportunities (SODEC, Epic MegaGrants, etc.)
• Full credit in project documentation and visibility as a key contributor to the IP’s growth
