About the Project:
We are developing a magical/cozy creature collector game, focused on idle and virtual pet gameplay mechanics.
The Role:
We are seeking a creative and experienced Sound Designer to create a range of high-quality sound effects. Your primary focus will be on designing unique and endearing sounds for our diverse cast of creatures, but you will also be responsible for other sound effects that enhance the game's cozy atmosphere.
This is a freelance, remote position. We will be commissioning work on a per-asset basis. Our workflow will be collaborative; we will provide you with a creative brief (including concept art, animations, and descriptions) for each sound or set of sounds needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Creature Sound Design: This is the core of the role. You will be creating:
- Vocalization of creatures (Chirps, coos, purrs, etc.).
- Movement sounds (Footsteps on different surfaces, wing flaps, hopping, etc.)
- Interaction sounds (Eating, sleeping, happy/sad emotes, etc.)
- General SFX Design:
- UI/UX Sounds (Menus, buttons, notifications,inventory management, etc.)
- Player Sounds (Footsteps, emotes, idle actions, etc.)
- Environmental Ambiance (Rustling leaves, waterfall, rain, etc.)
Who We're Looking For
- A strong portfolio/demo reel showcasing your ability to create cute, organic, and character-driven sound effects. Experience with creature vocalizations is a huge plus.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively from a creative brief.
- Responsive and able to work to agreed-upon deadlines.
Pluses
- Previous experience in game development at other studios.
- Experience with Unity.
- A passion for games. (Even better if it’s cozy games!)
