Job Title: 3D Gameplay Animator

Studio: Plumeria Studio

Employment Type: Paid deliverables

Location: Anywhere - Remote

Compensation: Task-based. I'll share a task list, you send me a quote.

Project

The project is an anime-stylized multiplayer action game, think Hades + Lost Ark in terms of gameplay. It’s still early in development, and right now I'm bringing on creatives for specific paid tasks to put together a proof-of-concept build. The goal is to get the project to a place where it can attract funding.

Role and Responsibilities

This is a gameplay animation role, not cinematics. You'll be animating characters that a player controls in real time, so the work has to feel responsive in the moment and hold up when it loops, chains, and gets interrupted - not just look good as a rendered clip.

  • Combat: attack combos and multi-hit strings, ability and skill animations, hit reactions, and flashy "hype" moments that still read clearly in fast action
  • Locomotion: idles, walk/run cycles, dashes, dodges, jumps, turns - clean looping cycles built to blend into each other
  • Game feel: snappy, readable motion with the anticipation, impact, and recovery that makes combat satisfying to play (not just to watch)

Delivering animations built to actually go in-engine - looping where they need to loop, clean enough to drive from animation states, and tuned with gameplay timing in mind

Required

  • A portfolio of your work, please include gameplay/action animation, not only cinematic or film reels to be considered
  • Conversational English

Bonus

  • A strong sense of combat choreography
  • Possibly quadruped or non humanoid creatures (enemies, mounts, bosses) - a plus if you've done it, not required
  • Root motion vs in place animation, and knowing when to use each
  • Familiarity and/or passion for anime games
  • A genuine feel for anime culture and what makes its best moments hit

How to Apply

Send an email with your portfolio and a short introduction. If your style is a good fit, I'll reach out and we'll take it from there.

About
Plumeria Studio

Hi, I'm Bryan. I started Plumeria Studio to bring together talented people from around the world and make the kind of game Eastern studios have spoiled us with - the hype anime moments, the storytelling and world building, characters that are cool and attractive, and flashy combat that just feels and looks good. Games like that shouldn't only come from one part of the world. We're out to show an international indie team can make them too and ours will be one complete game you buy once.

The dream is simple: make something people genuinely love, grow a community around it, and use what we earn to give back to the fans who made it possible.
