Hi! We’re Redshift Panda, a small indie team from Canada building a story-rich sci-fi role-playing game titled ROSETIA: A First Contact Simulation.

In it, you play the first ambassador to an alien world, tasked with befriending its strange inhabitants and convincing them to join the galactic fold. Think deep dialogue, careful diplomacy, Trekkian ethics, and unintended consequences. 

We’re looking for a remote freelance writer/narrative designer from Canada to help bring our vertical slice to the finish line and sign on to complete the fully-funded game. If you love writing sharp character dialogue, crafting agonizing moral conundrums, or nerding out about interactive storytelling — let’s talk! 

✍️ What You'll Do

• Design compelling quests and moral choices
• Write engaging character dialogue and in-game lore
• Build branching conversations with variables and checks in Articy:draft 3
• Adapt to pre-established tone and player voice
• Turn short briefs into fully realized characters with unique voices
• Help with narrative integration in Unity 
• Collaborate remotely and iterate on feedback

🛠️ What We're Looking For

• A Canadian resident eligible to legally work in Canada
• 1+ year full-time professional experience working on game, film or television projects (a precondition for pursuing government funding)
• Strong storytelling skills; a deep understanding of narrative
• Able to structure dialogue-driven scenes with heavy branching 
• Familiarity with Unity and Articy;draft
• Ability to write at volume, without perfectionism
• Science fiction media literacy; extensive knowledge of SF television, books, genre clichés, etc.

💸 Compensation

• To-be-negotiated salary, conditional upon the game receiving grants through the Canada Media Fund and/or Ontario Creates (NOTE: The applicant's work will wait until funding is secured)
• Equity: 15% of the game’s profit royalties for 7 years after release
