Tabula Rasa is a roguelite deckbuilder set in an elegant monochrome world punctuated by vivid elemental colour. We’re looking for a UI artist to help define a clean, stylish, highly readable visual language for this complex tactical game.
We’re primarily looking for UK-based candidates, due to contracting, tax, and potential funding considerations.
Key Challenges
Scope of Work
In this first phase, you will be responsible for designing and creating a mock UI based on a comprehensive style guide and the existing game prototype, which will be layered over concept art to allow us to evaluate our planned visual direction.
A successful engagement will lead to further work refining the mockups into a complete UI design, ready for us to implement in-engine.
Selection Criteria
We are looking for an experienced UI artist who can deliver a bold UI design that simultaneously injects substantial personality and style into our game, while also making the complex gameplay concepts easier for players to digest.

Timeline
We aim to commence work before the end of May, with deliverables completed around the end of June. However, for the right candidate we have the flexibility to extend these timescales.
Budget
This is a short-term freelance engagement. Depending on agreed scope and deliverables, we expect a budget in the region of £2-5k, paid on a contract/invoice basis. We expect the budget for this phase to depend on the proposed level of fidelity.
As a further guideline, we anticipate spending in the region of £10k on the entire UI design, assuming that we will own the in-engine implementation.
