The Role

This is a foundational, founder-level role.

You are not joining a team with a locked style. You are helping define what Talvi looks and feels like from day one.

You’ll be responsible for shaping the look and feel of the Talvi game world, from characters and environments to UI, effects, and beyond.

You’ll work closely with design and engineering to bring ideas to life, translating abstract concepts into something tangible.

This is a highly collaborative role with real ownership.

What You’ll Do

• Define Talvi’s visual style across the entire game experience
• Translate narrative and product ideas into clear visual direction
• Create and iterate on concepts for characters and environments
• Work closely with game design and engineering to bring concepts to execution
• Establish pipelines for 2D and 3D asset creation
• Oversee and guide production artists working on game assets, UI, effects, and marketing materials
• Ensure visual consistency and cohesion across everything we ship
• Provide clear, thoughtful, and direct creative feedback to elevate the work of your team
• Balance speed and quality in a fast-moving, early-stage environment

Must Haves

• A strong, self-defined artistic style that can translate into a cozy, engaging game world
• Proven ability to turn abstract ideas into unique, playful, and visually compelling designs
• Experience working quickly and iterating on concepts
• Comfort working across both 2D and 3D pipelines
• Experience collaborating with non-visual creatives (design, product) and engineers
• Ability to operate within tight timelines and cross-functional dependencies
• Experience overseeing or directing other artists (UI, VFX, marketing, etc.)
• Strong communication skills, you can give direct, constructive feedback with warmth
