As Marketing & Community Manager, you will help grow the presence of Torpor Games and our products across social media, community platforms, press, festivals, creators, and player-facing campaigns.
You will manage external communication, support community engagement, prepare marketing and PR materials, and help bring our games and their worlds closer to players. This includes traditional marketing tasks as well as creative community activations such as ARGs, unique lore competitions, and other player-driven campaigns.
This is a full-time employed position based in Berlin with a hybrid work structure.
About you
You want to help realize games that have meaning. You are organized, communicative, and able to work independently while staying closely connected to the team.
You understand how game communities behave across different platforms and enjoy finding ways to turn players into long-term supporters of a game world. You have an interest in indie games, political storytelling, history, and narrative-driven experiences.
Essential qualifications
- 3+ years of professional experience in marketing, community management, PR, game marketing, or equivalent experience.
- Experience working on a released game on Steam and other game platforms.
- Experience managing social media platforms such as X/Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Bluesky, Facebook, LinkedIn, Discord, Reddit, and Steam.
- Intermediate image and video editing skills, including tools such as Photoshop, Krita, DaVinci Resolve, Premiere, or similar.
- Experience preparing marketing assets such as banners, screenshots, animated images, short videos, and social media visuals.
- Experience with PR tasks such as preparing press releases, coordinating announcements, and sending out press communication.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work autonomously while staying teamwork-driven.
- Minimum C1 or equivalent English language proficiency.
- Passion for game development and community building.
- Interest in indie games, thought-provoking games, politics, history, and societal subjects.
Preferred qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in marketing, community management, PR, game marketing, or equivalent experience.
- Being a Suzerain fan.
- Experience designing or supporting ARG campaigns.
- Experience creating or managing lore-based community competitions.
- Experience with tabletop roleplaying games or tabletop RP communities.
- Experience in community moderation across Discord, Reddit, Steam, or similar platforms.
- Experience with influencer marketing campaigns.
- Copywriting and blog writing experience.
- Knowledge of German.
- Experience with Steam, Play Store, App Store, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch backends.
- Experience with analytics tools and campaign performance tracking.
- Passion for narrative, story-rich, and roleplaying games.
- Knowledge or previous research about the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s.
Job responsibilities
- Oversee and grow Torpor Games’ social media channels, including X/Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Bluesky, Facebook, LinkedIn, Discord, Reddit, Steam posts, and Steam discussions.
- Create and send the monthly developer broadcast newsletter across relevant channels, including Squarespace, Torpor Games Broadcasts, Steam Store pages, and social media.
- Prepare press releases and support PR-related tasks, including announcements, press communication, and send-outs.
- Plan and execute community activations such as ARGs, unique lore competitions, and player-facing campaigns.
- Oversee community moderation across Discord, Reddit, and Steam.
- Manage and support the Torpor Games merch store with a growing product portfolio.
- Respond to support messages on Steam, Play Store, App Store, Microsoft Store, PlayStation Store, support email inboxes, and forward relevant issues to the right Torpor Games team members.
- Communicate with publishers, partners, creators, and clients regarding marketing activities and campaigns.
- Increase the presence of our games through events, festivals, awards, creator outreach, and platform campaigns.
- Create marketing assets, including banners, screenshots, animated images, short videos, and social media materials.
