We’re looking for a game narrative editor to work on an unannounced game made by a small new studio formed with people from different backgrounds and cultures.

Right now we are past the mid stages of development, so we are looking for a writer/editor who can do a deep editing pass on the script, look for opportunities to boost the narrative impact, as well as provide some new ideas to impact the choose-your-adventure vibes of the game.

The role is a contract/freelance part-time and fully remote job, and the project is fully-backed by a publisher.

  • Oversee the writing of dialogue, scripts and other narrative elements.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure the cohesion and narrative direction of game lore.
  • Edit the existing dialogue/script to ensure that the writing meets a high quality bar.
  • Collaborate with the team to create effective and concise writing that aligns with the intended tone/voice.

  • Experience as a game writer or editor on at least one shipped game.
  • Able to work asynchronously, since team is spread around the world.
  • Familiarity (and flexibility) with game development workflows.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Passion for games and an interest in contributing to creating a new IP.

Bonus points:

  • Experience in writing about multicultural settings, particularly South American cultures.
  • LUA/Love2D coding experience, or being able to edit scripts directly from code.
  • Experience using Git.

We offer:

  • Remote contract / freelance role
  • Part-time job.
  • At least 3 months of work, with potential to be extended.

To apply:

  • Résumé / CV.
  • Portfolio, including examples of writing, editing, or story design.
  • Rates.
