Affray Interactive LLC is looking for a level designer to join the team. This level designer will be working on our horror, tactical shooter FPS SCP: 5K, available now on Steam in early access. This is a full-time, employee position (40hrs per week). See below for salary and benefits information.

Candidates should have Unreal 4 experience; however, for the right candidate with similar experience in similar engines like Unity or proprietary engines will still be considered. We’re looking for candidates in a US time zone for ease of collaboration and teamwork but feel free to apply regardless.

THE WORK YOU WILL BE DOING

• Concept levels from start to finish in conjunction with the Lead Level Designer and Game Director.
• Create primarily interior-based levels that are both exciting and easy to navigate through.
• Greybox and playtest your level, receive feedback, and work thoughtfully to implement feedback.
• Collaborate seamlessly with other departments in the creation and maintaining of levels.
• Communicate frequently with the lead and director on progress of level design tasks.
• Work with QA to put the final tweaks and fix bugs on your level.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE TABLE

• Passion for both tactical shooter level design as well as horror-themed level design.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills: Communication, giving and receiving feedback, learning from mistakes, and meeting deadlines are key.
• 2+ years of professional Level Design experience, preferably with a focus in shooters.
• Examples of your work in the documenting phase through to the greybox phase.
• Proven track record using problem-solving skills to solve issues.
• Strong documentation skills.

NICE TO HAVES

• Knowledge of Blueprints in Unreal.
• Experience of making modded levels for other titles.
• Experience with Co-op game design.
• Experience with systems like Notion, Jira, and Confluence for bug tracking and making documentation.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Affray Interactive provides access to Premera Blue Cross health, dental, and vision insurance plans to employees. We offer two weeks of PTO plus two additional paid holiday weeks in December and some paid company holidays. We are a fully-remote office with flexible core hours. Salary is negotiable within the range of $50,000 - $65,000 per year.
