This is a full-time remote role for a Senior Engineer (Unity) who will have a key role in developing features from concept to release and work on developing complex game engine systems. The successful candidate will collaborate with the other engineers and designers in the development of the best player experience possible.

 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a small but highly capable technical team to design and implement a new Unity 3D game project, from early stage to full production launch
  • Partner closely with design, art, production, engineering teams to identify focus areas and provide effective solutions for the appropriate phase of development
  • Iterate on and enforce processes, pipelines, and best practices for game development
  • Perform code and architecture reviews
  • Identify opportunities to incorporate new technologies and techniques to maximize workflow efficiencies and to provide effective, maintainable, and secure games and related applications
  • Build clean and performant UI/UX for 2D and 3D environments

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of software development experience with Unity, including working on at least one shipped game title
  • Strong proficiency with C# programming language and game engine architecture
  • Proven experience in Unity performance optimizations with an aptitude to identify and solve performance bottlenecks within the engine
  • Broad knowledge of available Unity plugins and assets that can be used for development of the game
  • Expertise in architecting game systems and the engineering complexity of game systems
  • Experience with software development lifecycle tools and processes such as git, agile methodologies, and continuous integration
  • Experience with integrating key game elements of pre-production, production, release and post-release phases
  • Strong sense of initiative and ownership
  • A "can do" attitude and willingness to handle various tasks, ranging from designing and building large mission-critical systems to minor UI updates and bug fixes.
