Bad Galaxy Games is looking for a driven and talented hard-surface modeler to create realistic, high-quality spaceship exterior models for Black Jackal, an upcoming science fiction game about exploring derelict spacecraft.
The nature of the game means that the player will be able to view the entire model from a distance or approach it from a first person perspective, so the models need to support multiple LODs with performant materials and geometry. This means you'll need to know techniques for efficiently texturing large assets, such as tileable materials and reusable trimsheets.
Initially the work will be for a series of 3-4 large spacecraft models, but if things go well there will be an opportunity for more work along the same lines, as well as some "hero assets" for interior spaces. Payment is negotiable, based on industry-standard rates.
We're a small team, and so we're looking for someone who feels comfortable owning their own space, working with partial direction, and being a creative voice on the project.
